I have an Idea,
Can the stadium makers who have been there and done that make a thread which gives a detailed step-by-step guide to building stadia for people who want to build stadia but can't do it yet?
Maybe it should be aimed at people with basic knowledge of Rhino or other 3D modelling software.
I agree with you on that one. It is hard to start if you don't know where.
Also, the toutorials can help you only a bit, and yet there is many things that we might want to do that are not covered by the tutorials.
One helpfull item that is available is $chwenker's "stadionabmessungen.3dm" file, which has the size of the pitch and the addbords.
It's a good starting point, but there should be more to help out with basic stadium making.
I think that if any one has good ideas or tricks they should post them here.
One other item that might be very usefull would be a created 3dm file of a stadium that has been created in rhino and converted into sti. Therefore, people would be able to download this fille (just like stadionabmessungen.3dm) and see how sertan things were created/done in rhino. If anyone wants to volentire their created 3dm, please do so, if not, I will add my Parken once it's done and released.
The Parken one would be great ![]()
Perhaps someone could offer a relatively simple generic one - like the little German stadium recently added to the site.

Four days and not even a response from the bi guys. Maybe all that talk about "We WANT the stadium builders to use our technology" was a load of crap.

shut up of course they want people to build stads, its just hard to explain and it isn't possible to write a 200 page long tutorial |
@ a27:
I agree with you 100%, however you must realize that the Stadium builders are not on everyday, and that people do have lives and work and they don't dedicate there entire life to building stadiums.
Be patient, I'm shure some of the big guys will respond soon.

I think he is but not sure - Schwenker's the first one that springs to mind, RealPete the second, and I believe there's others out there I can't think of, of whom Stotty must be one.
Im working on something similar over on the total club manager forums im a complete novice at sti stadium building but hopefully eventually this thread could help people

A thousand blessings on your head, you're doing your bit to make the world a better place. Tell us when it's complete will you? |
The thread is well worth keeping an eye on. He's designing a small stadium in Scotland as an example, and it looks as though that matches most people's ideas of what to do with their new-found prowess with sti design once they have it
Ok, it seams like no one seems to want to help us out
So I will try to help out with whatever I can. I'm no expert on stadium building but I will try with whatever knowladge I have, at the same time if any one wants to jump in and help out fell free.
BTW, I wont do a huge stadium to much work
, so let's do a small stadia.
If anyone wants to host this file and textures let me know that way you can see the work in progres.
First, let's get a stadium templatre. There are few available, but lets get the new one from: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lu.idf/Stadium%20template.zip
Now, where do we start???
Well first deside what u want to build first. I will start of by starting to build a concrete floor.
First you make a single mesh. How? Look here: http://www.totalclubmanager.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24692&start=12
Next you add texture to this mesh.
Select Objects Properties the green, blue and red cirle above Prospective view. Click on the arow by object and select Material. in assing by click on basic and go to Texture bitmap.
Chose your texture.
it should look like this:
Next we are going to put that mesh on an engle.
Highlight the mesh and go to front view and press Rotate 2-d button
point to one end of the mesh (the first point wont move) and the second to the the other end, now move the end to a desired height.
next I'm gona add a small base to the stadium and rais the floor.
create a new mesh, but this time in Right view
add texture, and move the mesh so it is at the begining of the angled mesh, move the angled mesh up anf it should look like this.
next wee will add a fence.
Go to right view and create a new mesh and add texture. I will also add a bend to the fence by creating a small mesh(same steps as adding angle to the floor).
PS: you can add transperance to the textures by clicking Objects Properties & in transperancy I added 50.
next in top view we will highlight all meshes made up to this point.
and we will start copying the same group of selected meshes to make a long stand.
click on copy
point on the mesh and start copying till you are satisfied with the result.
do the entire stand
now we will add something for people to sit on. I wont do seats cause everybody easle is doing them so insted I will add wooden benches.
make a new mesh that goes horizontaly and one that goes verticaly, add textures,
copy and pase till the entire stand will full of benches
lets see what it looks like so far.

so far so good! any coments? ideas? is this helping at all?
Please let me know
now we will add a bend around the stadium and continue adding stands till the entire stadium is surounded.
first sellest the entire stand, and copy the stand making shure that the stands touch.
now, highlight the part of the stand that you will want to bend.
go to transform and select bend.
and bend to the desired outcome.
cut off any excess you dont want and repeat till the entire stadium is surounded.
you can also add flags and baners by creating new mesh and adding textures.
this is what we got so far
and
Ok, that now we got the basic structure done who want's to continue?
GREAT !!!!

Hey, PluMe, i know you are online, where do you get the textures you use in the begining ????
@ ALVALADE XXI:
I have cheated and used a combination of programs to extract them from TCM & FIFA games
.
I've used "bigGUI" to extract fsh files, then "Sonique FSH" to extract the BMP, then "Photoshop" to crop/edit/create, in some other instances I have created them from pictures.
If you need some textures let me know, maybe I can help you or others.

Nice topic Plume ! Congrats.
We do really help people though, infact most of my time goes up on helping others.
Everyone who dreams to make a stadium wants the help of Schwenker and me. Daily people popup on our MSN's to ask : "How can I make a stadium ?".
The thing that makes me sad that they mostly dont bother reading our tutorial.
The tutorial made by schwenker was a very big work. He invested hours and hours of his free time on it. He even translated it in German and English.
StadiumBuilding is not easy, its even hard !
It takes both talent AND determination to succeed.
I put up a rule for myself, I will only spend time on people who really try ! Who read our tutorials. For the moment I'm helping 3 promising stadiumbuilders on MSN. I'm sure the whole community will soon profit from those three talents. Its no use helping people who will never succeed. Thats my point of view anyway.
Again no bad word on your helpfull screenshots in here ! Its great you put them on our forum. I hope more people will build stadiums. Maybe one day we all have all stadiums in the most important leagues ![]()
Cheers mate,

Tnx Realpete for the complement but a27 started the topic
I agree with what you are saying & at the same time I do realize that you help out people with any questions that there is with building stadiums (and for that we thank you and Schwenker
).
But curently you 2 are the only ones that can answer any questions that we might have.
I'm happy to hear that there are 3 promising stadiumbuilders
. Who are they? and congrats to them.
Take care

"what would hapen if the orientation/arrows was in the wrong way? "
In the file 3ds, textures will be black or absent... As possible, always to steer fléches towards the centre of the game.
let's continue with the basic building guides. This time we are going to try to answer a question asked by rabcp:

Now that we have layers and we added desireid layers, hide the layers that will be in our way, such as benches, baners etc.
To do that, just click on the lightbulb in the layers box
The next step is going to be on how to create an entrance.
The red line will represent where the players will run into the feild so we have to work around that area.
First delite whatever meshes you dont want around the entry point.
and start adding meshes in between the spaces.
and this is what I've got in the end
it might be nice, if you were to write this in a html file which we could put up for downloading
maybe i can sort of include it in the next version of sb as an "alternative" tutorial section, or add it onto the one in there, if there is a new version of sb.
Only if u want to tho
I have converted the small stadium to make a test to see how it looks in the game, here are the results:
before the whisle..................so far so good

far end of the stand, looks good so far
.

.
.
.
.
and ofcourse we ran into problems AGAIN!
WHAT THE F%*K IS GOING ON WITH THIS...........................
.................S%*T!!!
I GIVE UP!!!
Maybe it's my Stadium Builder? anyone has newer version other then 1.2
Sent me the 3DM file plume.
I'm quite sure its not SB but your 3DM.
Pete
Its on it's way.
Tnx Pete.
PS: As far as I know I did everything right. But there's got to be something that I'mdoing wrong.
PluMe:
Try with Rhino:
edit / select objects / duplcate objects ...
Another way...
Have installed "Rhino 3.0 Service Release 3b SR3b" ?..
PluMe does your PC slow down after a while when building your stadium, I dont do your method, when I try to build, it takes up all the resources up. It takes very long to zoom.
Hou can you get meshes transparant, like fences.
Help !!

This is my project.
It's from a dutch second division team BVO Emmen.
On the adboards ( Doeland) there must come some fences
That looks good
I'll send ya the texture in a bit (I'm at work now

But can you help how to import it to FIFA, Now someone else is helping me to import it and i want to know how to do it
@ CeeBee:
I would love to help you out but I can't
. Take a look at my earlier threads and see what hapens when I import them to fifa. Till I figure out what is wrong with my stadium builder or packer (rhino is aparently ok), I won't do any more.
did u make them textures yerself?
which ones?

Hello
I've a problem, it's an old topic i know but i've a question. I make the stadium of de Graafschap, a dutch club out Doetinchem, but i've problems with the square. I've seen how to make a oval, but not a rounded square... I'll show a picture of the stadium, so i will know how to make a square like this?

And where can I download the file to edit it?
Hi....
I am new here and my english is not the best...
I am trying to create the Stadium of VfB Luebeck and have some Problems.
At first after having done the main work on the main stand I wanted to save it to 3ds, but every time I do it rhino crashes to main window.
My second question is about groups: are they allowed or is there another method to combine some meshes with another (I mean all concrete parts e.g.)
Ok, an here is a first pic of my work...

Nice!
i would but I have no idea how to import the finished product into FIFA06. If someone else could do that, i could maybe do the rhino part
I can convert to fifa 06.
Does anyone know how to edit lights on stadium???
This link http://www.totalclubmanager.com/forum/view...=24692&start=12 is dead. Can i see somewhere else how to build a single mesh??
Sorry not a mesh i was not thinking but where can i get a seat texture????
take it from other stadium
I'm giving this stadium building a go. All I have any clue at is doing the Rhino 3d bit. Once I get the meshes up, I'll need a point in the right direction for textures and such. As per usual, help would be appreciated with this endeavour. I'd like to see every team in the Premiership represented with a stadium. Heck, even some Coca Cola Championship ones would be nice as well.
someone can re-upload the file:
